We had the opportunity to interview Guillaume Martin,President of the Association des Spécialistes de Pneu et Mécanique du Québec (ASPMQ). He shares with us the values he applies as an entrepreneur and in his role as President.
Rallying people through action
Guillaume Martin began his career in the automotive industry by training in various aspects of mechanics. He has 18 years of experience in this sector. After being invited to participate in conferences by Jean-Denis Quenneville, former President of the ASPMQ, Guillaume joined the Association’s board of directors, which was the springboard that led him to become President of the Association in 2024.
Through his role as President, Guillaume strives to create opportunities for learning and collaboration within the network. His objective: to bring together players from different sectors of the market to share solutions and best practices. “I like to think that I’m someone who brings people together,” he emphasizes, “both in my companies and in my role at the ASPMQ.”
The continuity of an entrepreneurial heritage
Pneus Martin, founded in 1983 by his father Jacques, has established itself as a key player in Pointe-Aux-Trembles. When he took over the family business in 2019, Guillaume expanded the service offering by incorporating general mechanics. Today, he manages two auto repair shops – one in Montreal, the other in Sainte-Agathe – where he employs about 20 people. He pays particular attention to retaining his staff.
This expansion is based on a long-term vision, focusing on combining expertise and proximity to customers, while ensuring the sustainability of the family business.
Family and leisure
A father of two young children, Guillaume enjoys skiing and tennis. His company also supports a ball team in Pointe-Aux-Trembles, adding a social dimension to his entrepreneurial commitment.
His advice to future young entrepreneurs? Ask questions to stakeholders in the sector and never stop learning. “Along with helping each other and communication within a team, these are the keys to success,” concludes the President of the ASPMQ.
