- The Cherokee Trailhawk combines the efficiency of a hybrid powertrain with best-in-class off-road capability to deliver a uniquely Jeep experience.
Designed to take the nameplate to new heights, the 2027 Jeep® Cherokee Trailhawk arrives with a clear mission: to deliver adventure and efficiency while providing the authentic off-road capability for which the Jeep brand is known. With a Jeep-estimated combined fuel consumption rating of 7.5 L/100 km (31 mpg US) and best-in-class off-road capability, the Cherokee Trailhawk embodies the modern do-it-all SUV.
“The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is a true benchmark for off-road capability and earns its Trail Rated badge through a rigorous series of tests in a variety of conditions,” said Branden Coté, head of the Jeep brand. “This SUV combines the legitimate off-road capability of the 4×4 system that defines the Trailhawk name with the efficiency of a hybrid powertrain, an increasingly important consideration for consumers in this segment.”
Cherokee Trailhawk: What the Trail Rated® Badge Means
For well over a decade, the Trailhawk badge has represented the most advanced 4×4 systems, innovative suspension technologies and designs specifically developed for off-road use. The Cherokee was also one of the Jeep brand’s first Trailhawk models. Trail Rated® certification pushes Jeep vehicles to their limits in a wide variety of conditions, including some of the world’s most demanding environments.
For the 2027 Jeep® Cherokee Trailhawk, engineers subjected the SUV to testing in some of the most challenging environments to go well beyond the conditions most customers will encounter. These validation tests included expeditions across some of the most demanding terrain in the southwestern United States.
Engineers tested the new Cherokee Trailhawk at Sand Hollow to validate its performance on slickrock and sand, as well as the protection of sensitive components and the underbody. At Moab, the Cherokee Trailhawk tackled some of the world’s most renowned off-road trails to optimize suspension articulation, ground clearance, traction and more.
The result is an SUV with best-in-class characteristics:
- Standard 28.8-degree approach angle
- 31.8-degree departure angle
- 21.9-degree breakover angle
The Cherokee Trailhawk is also the only SUV in its class to offer a water-fording depth of 60.9 cm (24 inches). It also provides an impressive 22.98 cm (9 inches) of ground clearance thanks to a 2.5 cm (1-inch) suspension lift.
Combined with exclusive spring and shock tuning, this lift improves the Ramp Travel Index (RTI) by 45 points compared with other Cherokee models. The RTI is an industry benchmark used to measure suspension flexibility and axle articulation.
Its off-road performance is supported by the Jeep Active Drive II four-wheel-drive system with Lock Mode and a standard, class-exclusive two-speed transfer case offering a 2.92:1 low-range ratio and a 37.5:1 crawl ratio.
For added protection on the trail, standard steel skid plates protect the front axle, wiring and fuel tank, while a dedicated skid plate also protects the hybrid battery. Canada – Jeep® Cherokee Trailha…

Rugged Styling to Match Its Capability
Like the standard Cherokee, the 2027 Jeep® Cherokee Trailhawk draws on 50 years of Jeep design heritage with an adventure-ready appearance. Maintaining its upright silhouette and simple, squared-off forms, the Trailhawk receives special attention at the front.
The Trailhawk-exclusive front fascia features a gloss-black finish on its upper section. Beyond its distinctive appearance, the design contributes directly to its impressive off-road capability, including approach and departure angles that rank among the best in its class.
Class-exclusive red tow hooks are also fitted at the front and rear. The hood features an anti-glare Trailhawk graphic that complements the Trailhawk badge at the rear.
Its rugged appearance and capability are further enhanced by two exclusive 17-inch wheel designs fitted with 245/65R17 Nexen Roadian ATX all-terrain tires. Canada – Jeep® Cherokee Trailha…
