Garage Jean Bureau: A Major Transformation in Trois-Rivières

In Trois-Rivières, Garage Jean Bureau is undergoing a major transformation. Driven by more than $1.2 million in investments and significant improvements, owner Mathieu Toupin and his partner, Andréanne Guilbert, are strengthening the company’s commitment to both its customers and its team.

Strong Leadership

Mathieu Toupin, who has owned the business since 2008, is committed to carrying forward a legacy built over half a century by founder Jean Bureau, a well-known figure in the Trois-Rivières automotive sector.

Dominique Legendre joined the garage in 2013. As General Manager, he oversees day-to-day operations, builds relationships with customers and suppliers, and coordinates with the technicians.

In December 2025, Andréanne joined the team on a more permanent basis. As Director of Strategy and Growth, she coordinates several administrative functions while also helping enhance the company’s visibility and presence.

The trio shares strong values: building loyalty across generations, delivering uncompromising repair quality, and maintaining close relationships with customers. The garage operates under the NAPA AUTOPRO banner, is CAA-Quebec recommended, and holds Gold-level Clé Verte certification.

Space-Redefining Renovations

“Over the past year,” Andréanne explains, “the shop has expanded with two new, higher service bays, allowing us to accommodate service vehicles. The addition of an alignment machine has also increased the company’s autonomy and profitability.”

The customer and employee areas have also been redesigned, with a bright reception area, a comfortable waiting area, an accessible washroom, and a modern employee lunchroom that is also ideal for training sessions.

Corporate Fleets and the Shift to Electric

The company is increasingly servicing corporate fleets for SMEs throughout the region.

“Inspired by the NexDrive program, one service bay is dedicated to electric vehicles, with a specialized technician, appropriate equipment, and ongoing training,” Andréanne explains.

A Valued and Close-Knit Team

At a time when skilled labour is in short supply, Garage Jean Bureau focuses on its people to foster employee loyalty. Birthday lunches, small rewards, and recognition on social media are among the initiatives used to show appreciation. The integration of two Filipino mechanics also reflects the company’s openness to cultural diversity.

Looking ahead, Garage Jean Bureau aims to further strengthen its expertise and remain at the forefront of automotive technology, while continuing to build and maintain an engaged team.
