Hyundai Auto Canada debuts its CRATER Concept at the 2026 Montreal International Auto Show, January 16-25 at Palais des congrès. This all-electric off-road SUV makes its Canadian premiere following its global unveiling at AutoMobility LA in November.
Steve Flamand, Hyundai Auto Canada’s president, emphasizes Quebec’s importance as a cornerstone market with record growth. Designed in Irvine, California, CRATER represents a futuristic vision for North American adventurers. The exterior showcases “Art of Steel Design Language,” sculpted fenders, steep angles and a monocoque body balancing strength with agility.
The interior prioritizes functionality and comfort, featuring a structural roll cage, integrated grab handles and a centre pixel display with five terrain modes: Snow, Sand, Mud, Auto and XRT.
The concept includes a removable Bluetooth speaker and playful design elements referencing the CRATER MAN character.
Hyundai will also showcase community partnerships including Hyundai Hope on Wheels and its official mobility partnership for FIFA World Cup 2026.
