On 9 September, automotive aftermarket associations from around the world gathered at Automechanika Frankfurt for the Right to Repair Global Meeting. Hosted jointly by FIGIEFA and the Auto Care Association, the meeting brought together organizations from Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania around a shared goal: protecting consumer choice and safeguarding the future of the independent aftermarket.

Canada was represented by AIA Canada, alongside delegations from Latin America, South Africa, and the United States. Malaysia joined for the first time through the EMPTA association.

Held under the theme “Maintaining Engagement and Momentum,” discussions focused on access to technical information, telematics, parts coding, and the impact of electrification and connectivity. Delegates reaffirmed that consumers should remain free to choose where they service their vehicles, and that independent operators need access to the data and tools required to compete on equal terms.
