Eight out of ten respondents say they are satisfied or very satisfied with SOGHU’s recovery program. The organization is now preparing an awareness campaign to address some of the issues raised by its partners.
The Société de gestion des huiles usagées (SOGHU) has shared the key findings of a survey conducted among its registered collection facilities to better understand their experience and the realities they face on a daily basis.
Overall, the results are positive: 80% of respondents say they are satisfied or very satisfied with SOGHU’s recovery program. SOGHU and its communications received an average score of 7.5 out of 10.
Collection Service Earns Positive Feedback
Among the highlights of the survey, respondents particularly appreciated the professionalism of the collection service.
However, the results also revealed an important issue affecting many collection facilities. Nearly half of respondents reported receiving drop-offs outside their regular business hours. This practice can create inconveniences as well as safety concerns.
For SOGHU, the findings confirm that the program meets the expectations of most of its partners while also identifying areas where improvements can be made.
An Awareness Campaign Coming This Fall
In response to the concerns raised, SOGHU is preparing an awareness campaign that will be launched in fall 2026.
The campaign will remind the public of best practices when returning automotive maintenance products to collection facilities. In particular, it will emphasize the importance of respecting business hours and not leaving products at a collection site when it is closed.
Consumers will also be encouraged to return eligible products in their original containers. Simple tips will be shared, such as reusing original containers and avoiding mixing different materials in order to reduce errors.
Adapting the Program to Real-World Needs
SOGHU plans to use the feedback collected through the survey to identify concrete actions and continue adapting its program to the realities faced by its network of collection facilities.
The organization also thanked the collection facilities that participated in the survey, emphasizing that their collaboration directly contributes to improving the recovery program and supporting SOGHU’s mission.
