Wesco Group names Josh Cox as CEO — a planned transition at the leading North American collision coatings distributor

Co-founder Lloyd White retires after building a 400-plus location network across North America, handing leadership to an internally developed successor with 8 years at the company.

Wesco Group, the most trusted specialty distributor of coatings, equipment, and related supplies for the collision repair and industrial markets across North America, has announced the appointment of Josh Cox as Chief Executive Officer. Cox succeeds Lloyd White, the company’s co-founder, who is retiring as CEO after decades of leadership. This planned transition reflects Wesco’s enduring commitment to customer service, supplier partnerships, and long-term growth.

An internally developed leader for the next chapter

Josh Cox, who most recently served as President of the company, has spent 8 years at Wesco and has spent his entire career in the coatings distribution industry. His appointment ensures continuity of the vision that Lloyd White built since founding Wesco in 1973 in Lynnwood, Washington, in 1973. White will remain on the Board of Directors to support the company through its next phase of development.

A 400-plus location network serving Canadian collision shops

Following the recent acquisition of National Coatings and Supplies, Wesco Group now operates more than 400 locations across North America. For Canadian collision shops that source products through the Wesco network, this leadership transition comes with a clear continuity guarantee: day-to-day operations, points of contact, and all commitments to customers and supplier partners will remain unchanged throughout the transition.
