Fix Network recently appointed Mary de Guzman as Director, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). Bringing 18 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental fields across both Canada and the United States, Mary de Guzman is now leading the development and implementation of the network’s ESG strategy.
Previously the Director of ESG for Sleep Country, the newly appointed executive emphasized that sustainability is more than just a strategy; it is a shared responsibility. Her mission will be to ensure that the network’s ESG initiatives, covering corporate and franchise operations, align with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
The appointment was welcomed by many professionals, with Daryll O’Keefe, Vice-President of Strategic Business Development for North America at Fix Network, greeting Mary de Guzman and highlighting the network’s historical commitment to ESG.
Recognized for its leadership on ESG issues within the collision industry, the Quebec-based franchise has been working towards environmental improvements for over two decades. These efforts include retrofitting facilities as far back as 2006 to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and developing extensive recycling programs. Shops recover metals, glass, plastics, tires, and cardboard, while enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for hazardous waste. The organization also promotes paperless documentation to reduce office waste.
In her new role, Mary de Guzman expressed excitement about having the opportunity to consolidate ESG practices across an organization that supports the automotive community from coast to coast and to make a lasting impact.
