The foreign-nameplate aftermarket will drive more than 90 percent of growth through 2030
The foreign-nameplate aftermarket is poised to set the market on fire. According to Lang Marketing, this segment will add more than 23 billion US dollars (roughly 32 billion Canadian dollars) in product volume between 2025 and 2030, accounting for more than 90 percent of all light-vehicle aftermarket growth in the United States.
Five major brand families are competing for this surge: Domestic brands, Foreign brands, Private Labels, OE-Supplier brands and OE brands. Foreign and OE-Supplier brands are gaining ground, thanks to their reputation for quality and distribution networks that favour them.
Domestic brands and Private Labels, meanwhile, benefit from the aging import fleet: as these vehicles age, their owners move from dealers to independent repair shops, which are heavy users of those brands.
