The Electric Future Lands in the West Island!

It’s official! The West Island Vocational Training Center has landed a precious acquisition: a high-tech Ford EV, secured directly from Ford Canada and West Island Ford. “We are always looking for newer, completely electric vehicles,” explains Bernard Duchesneau, who worked for a year and a half to get this new Mustang Mach-E (estimated value of $57,000 new).

With only 3,000 km on the odometer and in “showroom condition” , this high-tech vehicle is perfect for the 145-hour electric vehicle course the school has been offering since the pandemic. This advanced course is often taken by students who have already completed their DEP (vocational diploma). The goal? To study the complex network of onboard computers (about thirty per vehicle!) to train the next generation of technicians in diagnostics and problem-solving. The school can count on Xavre Brunet, one of the few accredited instructors in Quebec, to train not only students but also professionals from the Ford network. A huge step forward for training!
