The West Island Career Centre in Montreal recently received a remarkable donation from Ford Canada: a 2023 Mustang Mach-E that will be used directly in the training of automotive students. Thanks to this fully electric vehicle, students will have the opportunity to work on modern technology and gain valuable hands-on experience that reflects today’s industry reality.
Rather than relying only on theory, students will be able to take apart, analyze, and reassemble different components of the vehicle, just as they would in a real work environment. This type of practical training is becoming increasingly important as automotive technology continues to evolve, especially with the transition toward electrification.
In many industrial sectors, manufacturers actively support training programs by providing equipment to schools. This kind of involvement is less common in the automotive field, which makes Ford Canada’s contribution particularly meaningful.
By giving students access to such a recent vehicle, this partnership highlights how collaboration between industry and training centres can play a key role in preparing the next generation of skilled technicians.
