Revv’s CEO explains why the collision repair industry is struggling to keep pace

According to Adi Bathla, co-founder and CEO of Revv, the calibration compliance gap in collision repair is not a matter of negligence — it stems from ever-growing complexity. A survey of more than 300 shops found that 61% of repairs now require calibration, yet fewer than half of facilities are consistently equipped to handle that workload, even as volumes are projected to climb 30% over the next two years. Most concerning: over 20% of vehicles requiring calibration leave shops without receiving it. Bathla points to fragmented OEM documentation and the absence of industry-wide standards as root causes. Clear, shared guidelines, he argues, would align the interests of repairers and insurers alike — reducing friction and ensuring safety-critical work gets done and compensated.
