Diane Pageau : A True Architect of Skills

Diane Pageau, Adm.A., leads the Skills Development and Training department at Innoviste, where she oversees the vision and continuing education initiatives for the motor vehicle industry.

An Impressive Career Path
With nearly 30 years of experience in project management, content creation, educational technology (technopedagogy), and organizational development, Diane Pageau brings her expertise to an industry in transformation.

Before joining Innoviste, she led several skills development projects for major publishing houses, sector organizations, and companies. She has managed mandates in strategy, communications, content development, and digital transformation.

Human Capital as a Priority
“Human capital is the greatest resource of a company,” she explains, stressing the importance of starting from the reality of workers in order to guide them toward new skills. “Training costs less than losing a client, and it is operationally profitable.” She also highlights that training accounts for only 10% of learning, compared to 70% through action and 20% through coaching and support.

At the heart of the transition to electrification, she also leads the Compétences VÉ+ Program, which prepares workers for the technical requirements of hybrid and electric vehicles—a key challenge for the competitiveness of Quebec businesses.

Adapting Continuing Education Offerings
At the core of her mandate, Diane Pageau is modernizing the continuing education offering for professionals in the motor vehicle industry, particularly in electrification. Under her leadership, Innoviste’s training offering has gained strategic reach: online courses, coaching, digital tools, and multidisciplinary approaches. The Innoviste Academy now offers structured and evolving learning pathways.

In a context of transition toward electrification, she also leads the Compétences VÉ+ Program, which prepares workers for the technical requirements of hybrid and electric vehicles—an essential lever for the competitiveness of Quebec companies.

Key Challenges
Developing a culture of learning in an industry where graduates are few—and where training is often done on the job—remains a major challenge. “The more we train, the more this culture will develop,” she concludes.
