Golf, Good Company and Giving Back in Memory of Matthew Salsa

With 292 golfers on the courses and 390 guests at dinner, the Matthew Salsa Memorial Tournament brought a spirited community together on September 14 at Golf Le Mirage in Terrebonne.

For its 12th edition, participants answered the invitation of Matthew’s parents, George and Fatima, for a day of golf, connection and giving back. The gathering continued over dinner, offering a chance to catch up with friends and meet new faces while supporting causes that help young people and families.

Golf may have been the main attraction, but spending time together was just as much a part of the day. From the terrace to the dining room, the photos capture smiles, lively conversations and the pleasure of reconnecting. With 390 guests joining the dinner, there was certainly no shortage of good company!

At the heart of the tournament is the commitment of George and Fatima, who bring people together year after year in their son’s memory. Photographs of Matthew and keepsakes displayed at the venue offered a moving reminder of the purpose behind the event: honouring his life through acts of kindness that make a difference for others.

According to the organizers, all proceeds from the event are directed to charitable organizations, including Sun Youth, Ronald McDonald House and Junior Golf Québec. Every participant helps turn this tribute into meaningful support for the community.

The 12th edition brought together all the ingredients of a memorable gathering: sport, friendship and plenty of heart. It was a fitting reflection of the message shared by the organizers: “A life that touches others lives on forever.”
