I-CAR Canada and the Canadian Welding Bureau join forces to expand welding training

A new partnership aims to make welding certification more accessible, including in remote regions across the country.

I-CAR Canada announced the next phase of its partnership with the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB Group) to expand access to welding training and certification for collision repair professionals nationwide. The strategic collaboration brings together CWB Group’s welding expertise and I-CAR Canada’s long-standing commitment to comprehensive, safe, and high-quality training.

A direct response to underserved regions

One of the central goals of this partnership is to expand access to certification in remote and underserved regions of Canada, where collision technicians have historically had fewer local training options. The initiative builds on the existing I-CAR-NAPA partnership, which already enables NAPA customers to earn training credits through their purchases.

A strong signal for the next generation of technicians

For Canadian shops, particularly those in rural and remote areas, this expansion offers a concrete opportunity to train and certify technicians without the usual logistical barriers. At a time when retaining skilled labour remains a top priority for the industry, this partnership improves access to ongoing training nationwide.
