The Toronto-based manufacturer designs its products around the entire repair, starting the moment the box is opened.
For Mevotech, a part’s performance is measured not only after the vehicle leaves the bay but also from the moment the technician opens the box. Stopping power, durability, rust resistance and noise control remain essential, but the Toronto-based company also closely tracks how long it takes to complete the entire job.
Up to 40 components per kit
TTX Brake Service Kits are a clear example. Depending on the application, they can include up to 40 components, such as rubber-coated stainless-steel abutment clips, slide pins, boots, bracket bolts, wear sensors, and lubricant. Some kits even include a wire brush and caliper hangers. Technicians get everything they need up front, without sourcing parts elsewhere or reusing old hardware, says Baldev Hayer, director of brakes.
More than a part
The same thinking applies to complete control arm assemblies and Labor Saver designs, which include application-specific hardware and installation tools. Technical documentation and training round out the offering as Mevotech approaches its 45th anniversary.
