Pirelli to invest more than one billion dollars in the U.S.

Pirelli is stepping up in the United States. The Italian tire maker will invest about 1.2 billion US dollars in its plant in Rome, Georgia, to strengthen its position in the high-value segment, where the American market alone accounts for roughly 40 percent of global volumes.

Starting in 2027 and spanning several years, the project will increase the plant’s capacity to six million passenger tires per year by 2030, including production of the CyberTyre. It will unfold in two phases: first, ramping up robotized production using MIRS, a proprietary Pirelli system, followed by the construction of a fully automated facility dedicated to premium products.

This local-for-local strategy aims to boost supply chain resilience and meet demand for technologically advanced products made in the U.S.A. Present in Georgia since 2002, Pirelli is reaffirming its long-term commitment to the country.
