Toyota is expanding its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) lineup with the all-new 2026 C-HR, a compact SUV with a coupe-style silhouette that combines dynamic styling with impressive performance. Available next month, it joins the updated bZ and the new bZ Woodland models, strengthening the automaker’s electrified offerings in Canada. With an athletic design and optional dual motors delivering a total of 338 horsepower, the C-HR promises a driving experience that is both thrilling and practical.
Beneath its sleek roofline, the C-HR offers a modern and spacious interior, capable of accommodating up to 720 liters of cargo behind the 60/40-split rear seat, and up to 1,685 liters when the rear seat is fully folded flat. The SE and XSE trims offer a range of 438 to 496 km depending on the configuration, thanks to a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery and a NACS charging port compatible with thousands of fast-charging DC and Level 2 chargers across the country.
Built on Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA BEV platform, the C-HR reflects the brand’s innovative character. Its compact coupe-style silhouette, inspired by the hammerhead shark, blends an aggressive front with an angular rear, while its generous dimensions (length 4,520 mm, width 1,870 mm, height 1,620 mm) ensure comfort and interior space. The cabin stands out with a clean design, a slim driver display, and an intuitive center console, complemented by customizable ambient lighting and practical features such as two wireless phone chargers and rear USB ports.
On the performance side, the all-wheel-drive C-HR accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Its low center of gravity, achieved through the floor-mounted battery pack, enhances handling and agility. The vehicle also features steering-wheel-mounted paddles to adjust regenerative braking, converting kinetic energy into electricity to maximize efficiency.
Three trims are offered in Canada: SE, XSE AWD, and XSE Premium AWD. All feature a modern and comfortable interior, a 14-inch touchscreen, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and multiple single- and two-tone exterior color options, including Dark Gray, Tandoori, and Frost Glaze Pearl.
