Toyota Canada posts its best-ever quarterly and monthly results — and 67% of its sales are now electrified

Toyota Canada Inc. published results on October 1, 2026, that will redefine the Canadian automotive market’s benchmarks for years to come. In the third quarter of 2026, the company sold 70,008 vehicles, up 8.3% from the same quarter in 2025—an all-time quarterly record. In September alone, the company delivered 22,477 vehicles to Canadian customers, up 13.6% from September 2025, setting a new monthly record for that time of year.

Electrification now accounts for more than half of sales.

The most revealing figure is the electrification rate: in September 2026, electrified vehicles accounted for 67.1% of Toyota Division sales in Canada. For the Lexus Division, that figure reached 54.9%. These proportions would have been unimaginable just five years ago. Today, they illustrate the depth of the transformation underway in Canada’s vehicle fleet, driven in large part by Toyota Canada and its network of 287 dealerships across the country.

Canadian-built models at the heart of the success

Among the top performers, the Lexus NX and Lexus NX Hybrid — both assembled in Canada — posted double-digit gains in September, contributing significantly to a quarterly record for the NX lineup. The hybrid Land Cruiser set a monthly record in September, and the RX 450h+ (PHEV) recorded both a quarterly and a monthly record. These results confirm that Canadian production — notably at the TMMC plant in Woodstock and the Cambridge plant — plays a central role in Toyota Canada’s commercial success.

A strong signal for the entire supply chain

For service shops, parts distributors and automotive maintenance professionals across Canada, the rise of Toyota electrified vehicles is an increasingly concrete daily reality. Training technicians, adapting equipment and understanding the specific requirements of these vehicles is no longer a future investment — it is a present-day necessity.
