Regular interactions transform workplace culture and motivate employees.

Daily communication is essential for creating a trusting environment in auto repair shops, according to Rick White, president of 180 Biz.

During his presentation at the Midwest Auto Care Alliance Hi-Tech Training & Expo, White emphasized the importance of integrating feedback into the daily routine. This approach helps employees feel secure in their roles.

“When I talk to them every day, that builds trust,” he explains. “Feedback becomes a normal part of work.”
White recommends recognizing achievements immediately. For example, if a technician completes 15 hours instead of the 12-hour goal, they deserve prompt recognition.
Feedback should be a conversation, not a monologue. Asking questions like “What can we do as a team?” encourages collaboration.

“It’s not about finding things wrong, but about improving,” White notes. This approach reduces stress and creates a comfortable routine where employees are more receptive to constructive comments.
