According to a press release from Plasnomic, the global initiative is shifting from research to delivering its findings. It announced on September 15 that it is preparing a white paper titled “Transforming Plastic Repairs: The State of Automotive Plastic Repair 2026,” with formal publication planned for November. The document aims to give the collision repair industry a clearer picture of where plastic repair stands today: evidence-based best practices, the barriers slowing wider adoption and the opportunities to build a more consistent, measurable and sustainable repair ecosystem.

What began as a focused effort on polypropylene bumper repair has grown to cover repairability, technician training, economics, technology and traceability, said Mario Dimovski, president and chair of the council. Plasnomic will preview its first findings for selected industry leaders during SEMA 2026, November 3-6, in Las Vegas, ahead of the wider release.
