TPMS: An Essential Investment for Your Customers’ Tires

How Pressure Sensors Extend Tire Life and Improve Road Safety

Do you have a customer in front of you? Here’s how to talk to them about their tires and their TPMS.

Today’s tires have much lower sidewalls than before (series 40, 45, 50). This makes them very vulnerable to impacts and blowouts if tire pressure is not properly maintained. That’s where the TPMS comes in—your everyday ally.

Nitrogen is also a strong selling point to present to your customer. It’s not a gimmick—it’s an inert gas that helps maintain consistent pressure, regardless of outside temperature.

3 Key Points to Remember:

  1. Treat their vehicle as your own. Check the condition of their tires as you would your own car. Tires are the only point of contact between the vehicle and the road—it’s worth paying close attention to them.
  2. Check the TPMS. Make sure they are working properly with your scanner. Inside, a small, healthy battery allows you to receive more reliable data. Educate your customers about this concept.
  3. Don’t neglect alignment. The condition of our roads directly affects wheel alignment. Poor alignment causes premature tire wear and impacts vehicle stability. A check every 20,000–30,000 km is a good reference to give.

A well-informed customer is a returning customer. It’s your move!
