A career path forged in the field
Rémi Michaud is currently CARSTAR Canada’s Regional Director for Quebec, a role he holds thanks to his strong experience in the field. He held several key positions such as technician, appraiser, and shop manager before assuming leadership of the Quebec region three years ago. His career path is marked by a constant desire for improvement, illustrated by studies in management ethics at HEC Montréal and a bachelor’s degree in professional education at Université de Sherbrooke, which he is about to complete. “I consider myself a lifelong learner!” he says.
A strategic and versatile role
Based in Montreal, Rémi accompanies franchisees, supervises operations, trains teams and acts as a management consultant. He is also a certified trainer for I-CAR Canada and a bodywork instructor at the Centre de formation professionnelle de Verdun. His areas of expertise cover all bodywork operations, from damage appraisal to insurance mediation.
Adapting to market challenges
The director of CARSTAR Quebec emphasizes that “the decrease in insurance claims is an issue to be taken into account, but we are adapting our business models.” The company plans to integrate eight new franchisees this fall, with the goal of reaching 100 franchises in Quebec.
A model of resilience
On January 25, 2025, he underwent a double lung transplant due to autoimmune pulmonary fibrosis. After a demanding year of recovery, he returned to work full-time in August, ready to take on new challenges. This return is a testament to his remarkable inner strength and an unwavering commitment to his team and his company.
