Moving up the ladder within LAR
Éric Royer joined LAR in February 2010 and has consistently grown in a variety of vital roles within the organization. Initially an administrative analyst, he managed returns, credits, and rust warranties, while providing valuable in-house support. In 2014, he became the territory manager, covering regions such as Montérégie, the Eastern Townships and Centre-du-Québec. Through this position, he was able to build strong relationships with shops and better understand their operational realities.
Since 2022, he has held the position of support consultant for the bodywork division. His mission is to support some 30 shops in analyzing their performance indicators and to guide them towards targeted action plans. This is demanding fundamental work, but essential to drive growth and profitability.
Real challenges on the ground
While the main goal remains clear — to improve productivity and processes— there is no shortage of obstacles. Éric Royer mentions in particular the slowness in implementing action plans, sometimes caused by an overload of work or a variable perception of urgency. “Each shop has its own dynamic, and you have to deal with very different human and organizational realities,” he explains. The labour shortage requires great adaptability and a personalized approach. According to Eric, these challenges are opportunities for development.
A balance between passion and family life
Outside of a professional context, Éric Royer is passionate about cycling. He shares his life with his wife and their 11-year-old son, with whom he plays tennis and soccer. Recently, the family made a long-term dream of theirs into a reality with a trip to Portugal, which proved rich in discoveries and magical moments together.
Throughout his career, Éric Royer has embodied a new generation of consultants. He is also an analyst, a coach and a growth partner. His expertise, his ability to listen and his ability to adapt make him an essential cog in the mechanics for continuously improving body shops.
